Treatment of Salivary Glands Obstruction – Endoscopy of Salivary Gland (Sialoendoscopy)

Salivary gland obstruction is a common problem in which patients suffer from swelling and pain around the affected gland. Normally the symptoms increase following or during a meal. The obstructions are usually caused by stones or strictures inside the salivary duct. Today through Endoscopic Procedure it is possible to visualize the inner aspect of the gland and to remove stones and open strictures permitting in most of the cases return to normal gland activity.

The endoscopic technique is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require surgical cuts and is normally performed under local anesthesia.

Dr. Hasson is one of the few in Israel and in the world to perform endoscopy of salivary glands.
